This is an email from Marjorie Dannenfelser, President, Susan B. Anthony List. Please take a few minutes to read and call your Senators. The message reads: The "lame duck" Congress is expected to vote on the Department of Defense Authorization bill which may contain an amendment that would allow abortions on military bases both here at home and abroad. Please call your Senators immediately and tell them to vote NO on the Department of Defense Authorization bill if it contains a pro-abortion amendment that would allow abortions on military bases. This bill was defeated once earlier this fall because of the pro-abortion amendment and other concerning provisions. SBA List activists have sent over 34,000 emails to the Senate opposing the inclusion of a pro-abortion amendment into the Department of Defense authorization bill. But we must keep up the pressure and it's time to take to the phones. Please call your Senators immediately to remind them that as their constituent you do not support abortion on military bases. Pro-life Senators and groups are being kept in the dark as to whether this amendment will actually be in the final version of the bill, which is why we need you to take action now. When this policy was in place for a short time during the Clinton Administration, military doctors refused to participate. It's simple: military doctors want to save lives, not end them.
